Vehicle Registration

• In person. Please have the following with you:
  • Valid insurance documents or pink card. We accept photocopies or electronic copies.
  • If renewing on behalf of someone else, please be sure to bring in a copy of their current registration documents
  • Please have a copy of the original bill of sale or lease agreement and NVIS (if required) for all new units to be registered
  • If changes need to be made, all owners must be present to sign for the changes
  • If not all owners are available to come in together, please use the Authorization for Vehicle Services form.

In-Transit Permits

• In person. Please have the following with you:
  • Government issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport
  • Valid insurance (pink card)
  • Proof of vehicle ownership with the original bill of sale or Certificate of Title (required only when moving vehicle out of province or into the province)
• Online
  • A to B In-Transit Permit. Moving or towing a vehicle between two points within Canada. Point A or B must be within Alberta. (maximum 7 days)
  • Repair/Service In-Transit Permit. Moving or towing a vehicle to be inspected or mechanically serviced (maximum 7 days)
  • Demonstration In-Transit Permit. Demonstration for purpose of selling, test drives (maximum 7 days)
  • Salvage Vehicle In-Transit Permit. (maximum 24 hours)
